The baptismal font is front and center in our weekly worship. The font truly is the source of our life together. Martin Luther said it so simply yet profoundly:
‘Baptism is not simply plain water. Instead, it is water used according to God’s command and connected with God’s word. … For without the word of God the water is pain water and not a baptism, but with the word of God it is baptism… a grace filled water of life.’
We come from the baptismal waters to live a new life as children of God. Baptism is the defining marker of the Christian life in the Lutheran community. A logo can help people identify with a place and, perhaps, raise our curiosity level to, as Jesus has said, “Come and see”!
The hope is that you or someone you know or someone you love will find their place here at the Lord’s Table. “Come and see…” the table is already set.
